Saba has been present in Portugal since 1997, and has always reaffirmed its firm commitment to growing in this country. Its philosophy seeks to continuously integrate new car parks into the Group’s global structure, providing them with complementary services such as the Customer Service and Control Centre (CSCC), commercial projects and strengthened relations with the Portuguese Government.

In recent years, Saba has carried out a series of actions to equip infrastructures with discernible quality and innovation. This includes physically remodelling the car parks, offering a new image, painting and redefining the parking spaces. New technologies have also been implemented, such as changing the control and access systems to QR technology, deploying VIA Verde and selling 100% digital products through the website, so complementing the company’s effort to extend it throughout its e-commerce network.

The great quantitative and qualitative leap in Portugal came hand in hand with the purchase in 2015 of the car park concession company CPE, the fourth-ranked Portuguese private car park company in terms of revenue and number of spaces. Then there was the awarding, in 2019, of comprehensive management of the ANA-Vinci airport network car parks. Similarly to Italy, Saba carries out comprehensive management of car parking in the city of Viseu, both in the regulated zone and in underground car parks. The operation covers 1,718 parking spaces.

A highlight among the most recent operations is the lease of the Peninsula car park in Porto, with 553 parking spaces, which provides parking service to a building of offices and shopping centres, as well as the Tavira Regulated Area (881 parking spaces) and the Campanha Intermodal Terminal (230 parking spaces), among others.
