On October 16, 2024, CriteriaCaixa, which holds 99.52% of Saba, announced the agreement reached with the shareholders of the Belgian parking operator Interparking to merge the two companies. The Group resulting from this merger will become a European leader in its sector, present in 16 countries in Europe and Latin America, with a workforce of 4,000 people. It will manage more than 2,000 car parks and nearly 800,000 parking spaces, with 8,000 electric charging points.

A new stage for Saba. A new chapter in its almost 60-year history. A virtuous cycle that began in 2011 with the creation of Saba Infrastructures and has now been completed with a unique result. Transformation, growth, innovation and sustainability are some of the guiding principles of this cycle.

Between 2011 and 2024, the number of countries where Saba operates has doubled, from 5 to 9; its presence in cities has tripled, from 60 to 189; the number of car parks has increased fivefold, from 203 to 1,000; and the number of parking spaces has grown by 2.5 times, from 136,000 to 340,000. Revenue has doubled, from €173 million to €318 million, and EBITDA has increased by 2.5 times, from €58 million to €144 million.

The company has grown and expanded internationally, investing €830 million in expansion projects such as the Bamsa and Adif contracts (the latter renewed in 2024), the acquisition of Portugal’s fourth-largest parking operator, CPE, and entry into four new countries, among others.

Saba has been a pioneer in implementing access and payment methods (OBE’s in various countries, Ticketless with license plate recognition, and now Barrierless); an innovator, offering customers products and services that make their lives easier, such as e-commerce through the App and website; and visionary, transforming its car parks into true sustainable mobility hubs for individuals (electric vehicles), businesses (sharing, fleets), and goods (e-commerce). And finally, Saba has shown a strong sense of social responsibility, with nearly 20 projects supporting vulnerable populations and healthcare, and 14 agreements with cultural organizations linked to local communities, cities, and mobility, among others.

All of this has been made possible thanks to an outstanding team, whose efforts have driven every step of the company’s transformation. We are part of our customers’ daily lives and contribute to society far beyond our car parks.
